Dr. Byron Bloemer is a licensed psychologist and has operated mental health clinics in southeastern Wisconsin since 2000. With his doctorate earned from the University of Houston in 1997 and internship completed at the University of California-San Diego, Dr. Bloemer moved home to Cedarburg.
He recalls when he was four years-old in 1969, traveling with his five brothers, sisters and parents on the old stone bridge over Cedar Creek in Cedarburg and sensing that this was a special place carrying a warm feeling. Thirty-one years later, he began practicing as a psychologist on precisely the plot of land adjacent to that bridge. For nine years, Dr. Bloemer provided traditional psychotherapy on the creek’s edge, accompanied by his dogs and an occasional blue heron.
Today, Dr. Bloemer offers advanced psychotherapies including brainspotting, somatic processing, deep-release therapy for depression, anxiety, relationship dysfunction and trauma as well as collaborative couples therapy. Dr. Bloemer also provides traditional psychotherapies and supervision to his staff of seven licensed therapists.
