Dr. Byron Bloemer, Director of Cedar Creek Counseling and Cedar Lake Counseling has been a licensed psychologist since 1999. He provides traditional and advanced psychotherapies including brainspotting (brain-based emotional release for anxiety, trauma and depression), somatic processing and collaborative couples therapy. With over 20 years of practice and training others, Dr. Bloemer is well prepared to assist clients with life transitions, grief and much more. Dr. Bloemer is a former educator at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he trained doctoral and masters level psychotherapists. Dr. Bloemer graduated from the University of Houston and the University of California San Diego. He is a member of the National Register of Healthcare Providers. Dr. Bloemer has interests in cycling, exercise, spirituality and dogs.

Amber is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of successfully guiding clients toward healing. She provides compassionate psychotherapy to individuals and families experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, trauma, personality disorders, relationship problems, and chronic mental health challenges. Amber’s gentle approach begins with understanding the whole person and context of the current problem before helping her clients make desired changes toward a more balanced and meaningful life. She has specialized skills in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is uniquely effective for trauma and personality issues. She graduated from Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned her Master’s degree in social work. Her interests include outdoor activities with her family, baking, gardening, spirituality, watching sports, and crafts.

Jan Kwiatkowski, MS, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, dedicated to whole person and family wellness, growth and resilience through all life transitions. Her approach assumes the dignity and resilience of every human being. Jan graduated from Capella University with her Master of Science in Psychology, completed post-graduate training at the Family Therapy Institute in Milwaukee and earned a certification in Infant Mental Health from the University of Wisconsin. Jan has significant expertise working with individuals including adults and children experiencing depression, anxiety and other emotional concerns. She assists families experiencing domestic violence, the challenges of caring for a loved one with a chronic illness or special need (adult or child) and those becoming a parent and parents with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. As an ordained clergy person, Jan welcomes her client’s desire to integrate spirituality into their healing process. She has worked in continuous care retirement and hospice and is very experienced in working with families navigating through the end of life process. Her interests include knitting, plants and gardening, cycling, hiking and cross-country skiing.
